These comments were collected following the presentation evenings at the end of the 12 week challenges throughout 2009.

What I Expected

 

·             Lots of help and new Friends

What I got

 

  • Great Challenge

  • Friendly informative club

  • I lost weight and felt comfortable to come to the club when I could, even though it wasn’t every week.

  • Good challenge learning how to eat

  • An informative and balanced ‘advice’ centre for general health and wellbeing.  From very approachable – caring people

  • I got to meet a lot of new friends, and to learn how to get healthy

  • Friendly and helpful information learning about good and bad foods, healthy eating and all about the body.

  • Weight loss.  Generally feeing fitter and more energetic.  A fun evening and interesting talks weekly.  Masses of info on healthy eating

  • Something much more personal, and interactive with ‘advisors’ and other members.

  • Friendly support and a sensible attitude to diet and health.  A bunch of nice people and very useful information.  A diet when I really never felt hungry, was able to eat out with friends with relative ease and get into my thin clothes.

  • Friendships, a good atmosphere and a chance to meet more local people as fairly new to area alongside learning about healthier options.

  • Was a good well balanced diet and feeling a lot more healthy

  • I got more of an understanding that I need more protein in my diet

  • Diversity in age and weight

  • A friendly and encouraging club with people on call to help and support me through the tough times.

  • What I expected

  • A loss in weight, loss in metabolic years, I upped my muscle mass and I got more confidence in myself

  • Lost 27% body fat and won first prize! So happy I feel absolutely great and have loads of energy

  • Good info help and support

  • Excellent help and advice no pressure to buy products

  • Not as much as I wanted but I still fee great

What I Valued

 

  • Good help

  • The help and encouragement received from Susanna, Heather and Pete and Dawn and all other members of the group

  • New friendships

  • Exposure to information.  Individual support network

  • I value the advice given to help me.

  • Good social evening will keep going when I’ve reach my goal.

  • The personal approach – having a focus – increased knowledge

  • Being taught proper facts about what to eat and look for on labels.

  • Flexibility with my intermittent lifestyle – helping me to adapt to live on the run!

  • Was the friendliness of all the people at the club

  • The help received from Susanna when I didn’t think I was doing very well but she gave me great encouragement.

What I would Change

 

  • I would not change anything

  • Nothing

  • More help with food quantities for weight loss on an individual basis

  • I wouldn’t change what I am doing, but I would go back to the things I was doing before – Thank you very much

  • I would be better at following all the things I’ve learnt. 

  • Heard, or think I did, that you did a ‘beauty evening’, that sounds fun.  An exercise or relaxation evening could be a laugh.

  • Some extra phone calls or texts to encourage keeping going in the week.
